A full table at Let’s Frite

About

Luxury taste. Fast food form.

Let’s Frite opened as a pilot shop in the culinary capital of Franschhoek with a simple brief: serve a top-quality menu at affordable prices, at speed. Every component is developed in-house and homemade — buns, sauces, beef patties, and the triple-cooked frites the village now treats as a destination.

We sit just off the main road, next to the library, in a courtyard with a market feel. Table service throughout. Bring your own wine if you like.

How we cook

Burgers cooked to order. Buttermilk chicken fried to order. Frites cooked three times so they stay crisp on the walk from courtyard. An Asian line — Let’s Wok — for homemade udon when a burger is not the mood.

The same kitchen that has sat on Inside Guide’s Best Spot for a Guilty Pleasure list three years running — and is an Eat Out Neighbourhood Gem — still treats a R75 burger as seriously as a tasting menu.

The room

Fast casual, not formal. Wooden boards, plants, menu slates, and enough space for families after a day in the valley. Dogs are welcome. Kids have their own burgers. The courtyard is the point.
